Submerged 18650

So a friend managed to get his batteries nicely submerged…
They continued to work, but I pulled the covers off today and they smell pretty horrid and there’s some corrosion going on.
The big question I guess is whether they are salvageable or not…
Basically I need to soak them in something non conductive that will also help remove any corrosion…

Submerged in Freshwater or saltwater? Maybe use some destilled water. Should be pretty unconductive.

Isopropyl alcohol would probably be better to get rid of any salt if there is any. Then I’d need to try remove any corrosion…

Update: It seems that a combination of vinegar and distilled water should be used for the corrosion, then dry, then Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab just to displace any hidden water.

Be careful with that alcohol and any possible sparks!
