Building an 18650 battery with individual cell fuse wires

Thx for mentioning the amphenol surelok plug.

Mouser electronics has several promising looking plugs

Just ordered a set of slp-b50 series. :grinning: Its not cheap, but looks promising. We will seeā€¦

I am confused about sap-b50 series. Only male parts are listed in mouser canā€™t find the mating female connector.
Same with there position version:

Does these connector comes with female and male already?

All the ones Iā€™ve seen come as pairs. I donā€™t see the sap-b50 you mentioned. Link?

Itā€™s hard to beat 8mm bullet connectors. Light weight, handle amps pretty well, and if you 3D print a plug housing for them, you got yourself a cheap high amp plug.

I am new to the e-foil building world. I donā€™t even own a 3D printer yetā€¦so I had to buy something. But one of the guys Iā€™m building these boards with has a 3D printer. So, slowly we are getting up to speed.

In these links it is not clear if it is right angle, female or male

Download the datasheet of slp connectors. The partnumbers are the code of each version.
Typ the code into search field.

Here is shortcut pic of a 30Q , my fault ā€¦ the + on top is isolated with a plastic ring at the bottom ( as well as the classic one on top ) it melted after degas , you can see it , it is pretty thin, I will try to take a part one to see at what temp it s melting ā€¦

How did this short happen? I see where it shorted, but how did it happen? Were you building the pack? Or was this cell already in use?

It appears the cell is missing the plastic protector from the top, or did it melt?

I hope these cells are authentic and not one of the knockoff cells. There are a lot of counterfeit Samsung 30Q cells out there.

Post pictures of the writing on the side and the top and bottom of the cell. Should be able to tell.

But, best way to tell is to test cells, as I did in above post.

from my e-vape box , maybe smoking too much ā€¦ 30Q from nkon, just by keeping sliding in the 18650, 3 times a day all yearā€¦ this one had done at least 200cycle, wrapping was not perfect, top ring ok

short cut inside the box, top ring melted right away, the box as well (back mark on the pic) , i just had enough time to pull it out before the bottom ring (i think teflon) complety melt , because when it does, the cell will not stop heating and degas

not the first one , probably not the lastā€¦

on my efoil , no problem so far ā€¦with my 18650

would you mind sharing the supplier contacts with us?

Hi. Sorry for not making that clear. I purchased the cells from IMR.

Did you build it yourself from acrylic Glass? How do you intend to fix the lid?

ā€¦ i want also ask that. I want such batterypack also put in my box to be double save

Yes. Itā€™s just 3m double sided tape for the lid. No leaks after 30 minutes. I will probably add some screws. But the 3m tape is seems to be good enough by itself. Iā€™m worried when it gets really warm it might soften up, so some fasteners are probably inorderā€¦

Yes. Battery is a lot of labor and :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag:
