What are your thoughts about using high density pvc foam as a core material of boards instead of eps/xps?

Yes, it’ll work, you need to take care about the weight/volume of your board as a 100% dense foam board will add some unnecessary weight. Board manufacturers use low density foam in the middle with a high density foam layer on top.
